I have been more than blessed to know Sheila my whole life. She is the real deal, living out Gods word in every aspect of her life. Her knowledge of God's Word and how it applies to life is matched only by her prayer room cries and thanksgiving. Anyone who listens to her speak will leave with a greater understand of who God is, and also some things that they want to dig into a little deeper.

In 2009 the agonizing sobs of a heartbroken Mom filled the air. She reached her hands up to God and cried, "Where did I go wrong?" This Mom had just faced the reality that her daughter was a heroin addict. Responding to the call from God to take her own painful experiences and share them with others who know the pain of having addicted loved ones is why Prayers for Prodigals was written. You are in this book. Your experience is in this book. And your answer to going on with life is in this book. ...

We inherently look at abuse of power as the foundation that drives submission, especially in the man/woman relationship. Submission is not "keeping a woman in her place" but respectfully making a place together. Submission is not making a woman feel "less than" but feeds and supports her worth. To be a true Christian, we must set our sights on being more like Christ. Christ was at respectful in all situations. Christ saw people - good and bad - through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. Christ was in submission to God the Father. And Christ is the example for us. ...

Mom was a great cook and she loved to fill our farm table with country cooking. When Mom passed, I inherited a wealth that can never be replaced: her recipe folder. Good Food and Family shares some of the recipes she wrote down as well as a few of my personal favorites from some of my siblings. I have also thrown in some of the antics that I, as the oldest of 8, can get by with sharing! I hope you enjoy trying the recipes; I have left a blank page in front of each so you can fine tune anything that Mom left out. Walk with me down memory lane as we explore good food and family memories. ...
