Michelle Layer Rahal is an author, speaker, and writing coach who is passionate about helping others develop their spiritual eyes and ears. By combining Biblical teachings, historical references, and inspirational stories from her own experiences, Michelle demonstrates how we can recognize God’s presence in the chaos and noise of everyday life. “There is an invisible world all around us, waiting to be noticed, and an omnipotent God waiting to be heard.”

MICHELLE LAYER RAHAL served as the Youth and Family Ministry Director of her church before devoting herself full-time to writing for God’s kingdom purposes. She is passionate about spiritual formation and leads women, students, and the homeless in weekly Bible studies and annual retreats. The Indie-award winning author of Straining Forward enjoys collecting “God-sighting” stories and publishes a monthly blog on seeking God’s presence. Her latest book Are You Listening? guides readers toward recognizing and responding to God’s call. Michelle is a certified writing coach, a published educational consultant, and a former news radio journalist who holds an undergraduate degree in Theater Arts and a graduate degree in Education. When not in front of the computer, Michelle can usually be found in the kitchen preparing a gourmet meal for friends or singing worship songs at the top of her lungs. She lives in the Washington, DC area with her fun-loving husband, Greg.

I cannot say enough good things about Michelle's presentation. She is interesting and inspirational. Kept the audience's attention and her warm personality shines through when she speaks. Her slides, (not too many), emphasize what she is saying and do not detract from the topic. She handles the audience questions very well. Every category rates a 5

Michele Rahal spoke to our 60+ Senior Fellowship about her faith-based book ARE YOU LISTENING? Michele was inspiring as she brought to life the fact that GOD is there for us, but we must have an open and receptive mind to receive GOD's guidance in our lives. Michele shares stories and experiences that illustrates how faith comes alive when we have a willingness to listen to GOD. Michele is an excellent presenter.......one of the most inspirational speakers we have had!

On November 19, Michelle taught an adult Sunday school class and preached in our morning worship service. She kept the adult S.S. class in discussion with stories, questions, and intentional connection. Â In the worship service, Michelle inspired members and members alike as she spoke about what distracts us from listening to God's voice and how we draw near to hear our Lord's still small voice. Â After the sermon, many people wondered if Michelle might attend seminary because she has the gift! Â I encouraged her to continue to teach and preach again and again. I highly recommend Michelle to speak at your organization and for you to read her books!
