No one names their son "Bezalel" anymore. But what a cool name! It means "in the shadow" of God. This guy in Exodus 31 was the creative and artistic mind in the building of the Tabernacle and his workmanship put the spotlight on God. I strive to be like ol' Bez - to creatively highlight the wonders and glory of God and His Word and let the spotlight fall on Him! That's fine with me - the spotlight would emphasize my laugh lines too much anyway!

Hi, I'm Kelly Thoreson and I'd love the opportunity to speak at your event! Like Bezalel, I'm a "right-brained gal" whose passion is to teach God's Word in engaging and innovative ways.  I love to "tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love" with freshness and relevance that audiences remember long after our time together. I'm passionate about telling ordinary women, like me, about an extraordinary God!

Here are a few BENEFITS to having me speak at your event:

  1. You get a twofer if you want!  I speak and sing - often intertwining the two to enhance the message I bring. 

  2. There aren't a whole lot of speakers from the Midwest.  This reality might make it more affordable if you are in one of those states that knows what snow looks like. Although, the sunscreen is already packed!                               

  3. You've got a friend in me! From the very first inquiry to the follow-up, I try my hardest to make the event planner's job as easy and fun as possible. The only surprises will be the amazing things God has up His holy sleeve for us! While there, you will see me greeting women entering the event and praying with them before they leave. I will be all in. Well-Seasoned

I'm a hard-working, Midwest girl who is not afraid to get her hands dirty. But, I’ve also traveled the world as a conference and retreat speaker, teacher, worship leader, and singer/songwriter. 15,000 people attended the Broadway-style musicals I wrote and produced called The Halo Projects. These fully orchestrated musicals tell the Christmas and Easter stories from the perspective of those glorious inhabitants of heaven - angels! (It took all of the right-brained side of me I could muster, a huge and talented cast and crew, and a whole lot of caffeine to pull these off!) 

In Romania, Mozambique, and Brazil, I ministered to the poor, the orphan, and the diseased. I was invited to lead worship in Thailand and Germany at international missionary conferences (Greater Europe Mission and Evangelical Free Missions). I've sung and taught God's Word throughout Italy, Canada, and the United States. My Wonders of Worship Workshops tell about the importance of Biblical worship in local churches. I've ministered in mega churches of 20,000, have put on crusades in small farming communities, worked alongside speakers Susie Larson and Dee Brestin, and have found profound joy in serving in local jails, nursing homes, and homeless shelters... not to mention mentoring college girls in my living room.

But I can't live off of the resume-worthy good I've done. “Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done.” ― C.S. Lewis. It's a daily walk with Jesus Christ. Trust and obey.

You Are The Heroine

I'd love to meet and serve the women you minister to on a regular basis. You are, and always will be, the heroine. You are the one who has taken the late-night calls and has prayed for these women through the most difficult of circumstances. I simply want to come and cheer you and your team on in ministry. 

My Talks

• A signature presentation about the ways that God has clothed us from Adam and Eve to the armor of God, to the robe of righteousness which is a wedding gown of sorts - as Jesus calls us His Bride. I even use a 'fresh off the honeymoon' newlywed of your choosing adorned in a white bridal gown to highlight this point!
• Christmas Talk - original Christmas songs included
• Wonders of Worship Workshop - for worship teams. 
• Prayer - we women love Tupperware and Totes! So why not organize our prayer lives so that every time we sit down and speak to the Father we include the things most important to us - praise, thanksgiving, the world's needs, national and community concerns, missionaries and ministries, our families, friends, the sick, lost sons and daughters, the broken, the trafficked... overwhelmed yet? We won't be after our time together!
• Jesus is coming soon! I'll map out what the Bible says has happened, is happening, and what will happen. 
• I offer sessions on parenting, understanding the seasons of your life, and how to disciple other women.
• And of course, run a topic by me. I may just have something up my speaker's sleeve about that!
