====
April Dawn White is a Jeep rock-crawling wife, cheerleader of two young adults, avid reader, and nap enthusiast.
Until eight years ago, the only thing missing from April’s idyllic life was a white picket fence and a deer-proof garden. However, in 2015, a rare illness, Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis, threatened to derail April’s sense of worth, security, and identity.
Suddenly, catapulted into the world of chronic illness, April retired from her career as the neighborhood pharmacist. However, she continues to dispense hope from her website, www.AprilDawnWhite.com.
Life with a chronic illness is a daily fight, but God grants His strength each day. As a chronic illness warrior, April draws strength daily with Jesus, coffee, and afternoon naps. While a rare illness hijacked her body, she refuses it to hijack her hope. God is using April's chronic battle as a platform to write and speak of God's chronic presence.
April earned a Bachelor's in Biology from James Madison University and a Doctor of Pharmacy from Shenandoah University. April writes for Reach Out Columbia and Focus on the Family’s Clubhouse magazine and Inspire a Fire. She is the columnist for the “Pressing On” column for the quarterly chronic illness magazine Broken but Priceless. April's book coauthored with Marilyn Nutter, Destination Hope: A Travel Companion When Life Falls Apart (Ambassador International Publication) September 2021.
April lives in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. When not writing, you’ll find creating joy in her craft room. Her arthritic Jack Russell Terrier snores underfoot while she creates stained glass, quilts, and various craft projects. You can learn more about April's speaking, coaching, and writing and her statement of faith at www.AprilDawnWhite.com.

I came ready to receive a dose of hope from author and pharmacist, April Dawn White. April's cheerful presence and casual confidence drew me in from the start and captured my attention for the next hour. She spoke with candor about hard truths like letting go of a lifelong career and the debilitating effects of a chronic illness. During her talk, I witnessed a transformation in the room as the group felt a sense of trust and sought answers from April not as a stranger, but like a trusted friend. If you need a speaker for spiritual growth through life's roughest storms, I highly recommend April Dawn White. She will spark your faith with a dose of hope and leave you with daily encouragement to soothe your mind, body, and soul.

We had April come speak to our group of stay at home Mamas and it was so wonderful to hear from her. Her story is inspiring along with her faith in God through it all. She spoke in a way that had each of us listening from beginning to the end and we each took something away from her message. I highly recommend her for any speaking engagement, she is a bright light and sweet soul and we were blessed to have her. Thank you so much April!

Destination Hope is not a self-help book, filled with platitudes from people who think they have life figured out. Instead, Marilyn Nutter and April White link arms with the audience and encourage their readers through stories of their personal challenges in widowhood and chronic illness. Women are encouraged to see loss and hardship as part of life's journey and are reminded to turn their gaze upwards, to the Provider of Hope. Within the pages of Destination Hope comes a sisterhood, a bond, that is formed only through the mutual understanding of loss and the need to find hope in...
