Susan Peaslee is an author, teacher and speaker who combines Biblical truth with humor and real-life stories to encourage women. Come discover how to access God's peace amidst the trials and learn how to be honest with yourself and God, so you experience His faithfulness and respond with an open heart.
I was born in Massachusetts, moved to Wells, Maine when I was eight. I attended and graduated from Glen Cove Bible College in Rockland Maine with a BA in Bible and a minor in missions. I have been married to Neil since 1978, together we raised two daughters and three sons on our small family farm in Somerville. I have eleven grandchildren. We lost our home to a fire, sent two sons to Iraq, lost one son to suicide and lost two granddaughters, one at five months and one was a day old. For the last thirty six and a half years I have worked in public schools as an Educational Tech III in Special Education grades K-8th.
Because of my personal loss, I am trained in Suicide prevention and Applied Metapsychology. My favorite way to spend any extra time I can is to research, to write, to make people think and challenge them to grow. I love to study the Word of God, especially the Old Testament where there are so many treasures to be found. I write the Vacation Bible School lessons and teach them for my home church in Somerville.
Along with writing and teaching the Women’s monthly Bible studies, we have covered I and II Peter, Galatians and am currently working through Ephesians. My desire is to be used by God to help women grow in their relationship with their Savior.
They Were Just Like Us, Women of the Bible, was written after the death of my son and two granddaughters.

Susan has been a weekly writer for the Women Gathered community for several years. Susan is an outstanding writer and teacher of the Word, so when I had the opportunity to hear her speak, I jumped at the chance! I heard Susan speak at a conference in Greenville, ME. Susan's ability to convey the truths found within the word of God and apply these truths to daily life was not only inspiring and encouraging, but also entertaining! Susan is one of the most gifted storytellers I have every met. I fully recommend Susan for any women's group yearning to dig into the Word of God and share a few laughs (and possibly tears) along the way!

Susan is the real deal! One of the most amazing qualities of Susan is her knowledge of the Bible. She digs deep into scriptures and doesn't compromise. What is amazing is she challenges the long time believers and at the same time gives new believers an understanding of the Bible. It is fascinating to sit back and listen to her story develop. Susan doesn't rush, she spends time praying for those that need prayer, she is relational and sensitive to the crowd she is speaking to. Susan is also a lot of fun and has a killer Maine accent!
