Mary R. Dittman is an in-demand speaker and teacher.  She has shared the stage (virtually and in person) with Michelle McKinney Hammond, Nicole C. Mullen, Stacey Speller, Apostle John Eckhardt, and others.  She has been a speaker for the NCAA Champs/LifeSkills program, Yoga Alliance, the South Carolina Dental Association, Tandem Ministry Women’s Event, Florence Chamber of Commerce, and many more.

Mary is an Instructor of Marketing and Director of the Business Internship Program at Francis Marion University. She is the recipient of the FMU Excellence in Teaching Award. Prof. Dittman received the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Marketing and a minor in Social Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno, and the Master of Business Administration from Francis Marion University.

Prof. Dittman teaches a variety of business and marketing courses, and created the School of Business Internship Program, which affords FMU students the opportunity to work in local businesses while in school. She has grown that program to include all majors within the School of Business. She was recognized by Governor Mark Sanford for her Tools for School program which put school supplies into the hands of 120 local school children who were in need. 

She has received numerous awards for her work in support of college students, and is a speaker of choice for NCAA events and Greek organizations. 

In the community, Professor Dittman serves on the Florence County Economic Development Partnership Commission and is Past Chair of the Florence Civic Center Commission and served previously as Vice-Chair.  She does consulting work in the areas of marketing and business strategy for various local and regional companies. 

Her first book, How to Be Happy When You’re Single, was published in 2019.  Her College On Fleek and One-Derful Life podcasts are available on Apple Podcasts.

Professor Dittman is Past President of the Pee Dee Business & Professional Women’s Network, and a member of the American Marketing Association, Delta Sigma Pi (co-ed business fraternity), Omicron Delta Kappa (leadership society) and Beta Gamma Sigma (business honor society). She is also a graduate of Executive Leadership Florence.
