Mabel Ninan is an award-winning author, podcast host, speaker, and Bible teacher. Her mission is to inspire believers to embrace their pilgrim identity so they can pursue their heavenly calling with boldness, urgency, and passion.
=====
Born and raised in the minority Christian community in India, Mabel moved to the US in 2008 shortly after getting married. In fifteen years of her marriage, her family has called ten different places across two continents and seven cities home. The challenges Mabel faced as an immigrant on the move led to a spiritual crisis that drew her nearer to God’s side where she learned valuable lessons about how to live as a citizen of heaven.
In her latest book, Far from Home: Discovering Your Identity as Foreigners on Earth, she draws from her personal experiences and examines the lives of biblical immigrant heroes to shed light on how to find purpose and joy as sojourners on earth. The book was awarded the Christian Market Book Award for 2023 Christian Living Book of the Year by Advanced Writers & Speakers Association (AWSA).
A contributor to Guideposts' All God's Creatures: Daily Devotions for Animal Lovers (2022, 2023 and 2024), Mabel’s writings have appeared in The Upper Room, CBN.com, Leading Hearts Magazine, AriseDaily.com, and (in)courage.me. Her stories and devotions have also appeared in other anthologies/devotionals by Guideposts. Through her podcast, Far from Home with Mabel Ninan, she hopes to encourage biblical perspectives on immigration and inspire faith in action.
Mabel was involved in youth ministry for almost fifteen years in her home church in India. After moving to the U.S., she has been serving in various roles in women's ministry for almost a decade. Currently, she is the Substitute Teaching Leader at a Bible Study Fellowship class in Northern California. She is a member of AWSA, Redbud Writers Guild, CIPA (Christian Indie Publishing Association), and Spark Collective.
Mabel enjoys reading, traveling, and dancing, but nothing gives her more joy than having conversations about the Bible. She is pursuing M.A. in Theological Studies from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and lives with her husband, son, and Maltese pup in Northern California.
