Joan C. Benson is a wife, mother of four adult children, a grandmother of eight, a former educator, an author and inspirational speaker. Joan became an active speaker in the Women Victorious ministry two years ago. Their message is based on 2 Corinthians 4:7-9. Their theme is Connecting, encouraging, equipping ... Ordinary Women--Extraordinary God. As a smaller speaking group, Women Victorious is intent on making personal connections with each other and God. The WV speaking group is regional and local, customizing each event in length, topic, and music to fit the audience.
Joan has been a freelance writer for over thirty years in addition to having served as a reading specialist, teacher mentor, and classroom teacher in her first career. After retiring from her educational life, she pursued her love for writing with freedom to share her spiritual insights. She had her debut historical fiction novel, His Gift, released by Elk Lake Publishing, Inc., in 2020. Previously, she wrote for multiple Christian magazines including LifeWay’s “ParentLife,” Regent University’s “The Christian Leader,” Royal Rangers “High Adventure,” and others. Joan also has many years of experience writing children’s ministry publications for LifeWay Publishing. Her most recent book project was co-authoring the Cornerstone Series with Marjorie Wingert, which consists of four children's picture books on culturally significant topics (life, creation, gender, and ethnicity).
