Dr. J. Michelle Vann, raised in Arkansas City, KS, has always been passionate about learning and growth. After high school, she began her college journey at Cowley County Community College, then transferred to Butler County Community College, where she earned her Associate of Arts in Education. In 1990, she married William Vann and continued her education, ultimately obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Newman University.
Michelle dedicated nearly two decades of her career to Wichita Public Schools, impacting countless young lives and mentoring probationary teachers. During this time, she furthered her education, earning a Master's in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on History. Later, she received her Doctorate in Christian Counseling and Theology from Faith Bible College.
Michelle's love for education led her to higher education. She served as a Financial Aid Representative at Tabor College and later as a Dual Credit Coordinator at Friends University. She also pursued ministerial licensure through Victorious Life Bible College, balancing her studies with supporting her husband in ministry for over 30 years—a testament to her passion for learning and service.
Together, Drs. William and Michelle Vann are a dynamic team, pursuing ministry and running their business, BaM Group. They serve their community through rental management, consulting services, and even farming, positively impacting multiple fronts.
Dr. Michelle is a renowned speaker, author, and educator, having graced the TEDx stage. She founded Sistahs Can We Talk, a non-profit organization that addresses health disparities for women of color. She also leads Vanntastic Solutions, a for-profit enterprise offering faith-based coaching to empower women in their health and wellness journeys. Michelle firmly believes that every woman has a purpose, and she's committed to helping them discover it.
Michelle has authored two books—Help Along the Journey and Stop the Merry-Go-Round, I Want to Get Off—and contributed to several anthologies, including Daily Dose of Declarations, Becoming the Shero, Let the Daughters Arise, and Living in the Fishbowl. She has also created journals and planners to support women's spiritual journeys.
Drs. William and Michelle are the proud parents of two adult children: Brandon, owner of Vanntastics Chair, and Brianna, a Cardiac Research Nurse.
