Lisa Maki is a seasoned public speaker with over 15 years of experience in conducting training programs and workshops, delivering powerful speeches, and speaking at conferences. She is highly respected both in the secular and church arena because of her ability to adapt to any audience.
Lisa, as she is known in the corporate world was a successful consultant in Human Resources in Organizational Development. She specialized in designing and conducting Leadership, Management, and Self-Development training programs for Top 500 Fortune companies, including Kraft Foods, Dole Asia, Kimberly-Clark, Aetna, and others.
As a Professional Writer
Lisa has a Bachelor's degree in English and has over 20 years of Professional Writing experience which includes Resume Writing, Business Plan, Copy Writing for Brochures and Websites, Business Letter Writing, Speech Writing, Newsletters, Press Kits, Artist's Bios, etc.
Her first exposure to the corporate world was in a PR-Advertising agency as an Assistant Copywriter. This job harnessed her skills in brochure writing, and copy writing for ads. From here, Lisa worked in a management consulting company where she wrote numerous business letters as well as course curriculum for training programs. A few years later she had the privilege of working as Communications Director for a non-profit organization. She did all types of corporate communication materials including brochures, website content, newsletters, regular bulletins, business letters, flyers, etc.
Church Background
Lisa is the Founder and Executive Director of Step Out Ministries International, a ministry for inner healing and transformation, and whose outreach base is in the Philippines.
Lisa is backed up by over 15 years of ministry experience, both in the Philippines where she came from, and here in the U.S.
Back in the Philippines, she served as Communications Director in an evangelical church, and also as head of Women’s Ministry. From there she formed a ministry for women specializing in emotional healing, which opened doors to the women’s prison, where she pastored for three years. Part of the services that this ministry offered was Bible-based seminars and workshops for corporate offices. She was then commissioned as minister in 2006 by a church fellowship with congregations and ministries throughout the United States and the world.
Lisa moved to Washington State in 2009 where she led a church with her street-evangelist husband -- a church for those who can't find their fit in traditional churches. This included drug addicts, alcoholics, and those labeled as "rejects" in society. In 2011 she founded God’z Gurlz, a Bible-based online magazine for women, which is now Step Out's official web magazine.

Lisa's bestselling books are Armour Bearer Wife and Breaking Chains. Her other books are Armour Bearer Wife II, Into His Inner Court, and Where is he?.
Personal Background
Lisa lives in Lakewood, WA with her husband. She enjoys cooking, running, and spending quality time with her spouse. She is a mother to two boys, who are now grown-up men: her eldest born in 1987; her youngest in 1996.
