In 2015, God spoke a promise to Emily that began with a career change and the opening of a ministry with a storefront, Adored Boutique. In 2018, Emily established Designed To Be Ministries, which included a 2-year course designed to increase the intimacy of the participant’s relationship with Jesus and call them up into the authority Jesus died to give the Church. Today, Designed To Be Ministries specializes in speaking, executive prayer coaching, and personal prayer coaching. In 2024, Emily published her first book, When Jesus Shows Up In Skinny Jeans. Emily's book contains the course content–focusing on the power of Emily’s testimony of God’s faithfulness to take her from a place of knowing about Jesus to knowing Jesus intimately. She provides audiences with compelling testimony of her personal, and vulnerable, experience with God and how a single "yes" can ignite a commitment to not just observe God through a lens of religion but to experience Jesus and the Holy Spirit through the lens of an intimate relationship. 

Emily is wife to Rolf, mother to Hannah and Rylan, and a dog mom. She lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Adored Boutique is located. She loves homemade chocolate chip cookies and taking a good hike on a sunny day.

With any invitation to speak, Emily pursues The Father for affirmation that it is His assignment for her. She has experience speaking weekly in her Designed To Be classes and enjoys speaking at church and/or women’s events.
