Cindy L. Smith is a passionate cheerleader for women and children! She has over twenty five years of volunteer and work experience reaching out to domestic violence, rape victims and children through child abuse prevention programs in local schools.
Cindy is the award winning author of Whispered Truth, a novel, based on true events of abuse, forgiveness and hope and Isabella's Treasure, Empowering Children with Body Safety.
Cindy's passion to prevent child abuse lead her to create the X Zone Body Safety Program TM which consist of materials designed to prevent child abuse and empower preschool children to recognize and respond to abuse. The book, Isabella’s Treasure, Empowering Children with Body Safety along with other materials are presented to children 3 to 6 years old.
In both books Cindy L. Smith has taken a real-life, painful and taboo subject, and made it an inspiring and empowering story with both humor and hope.
Cindy Smith was adopted, abused as a child and lived through domestic violence in her first marriage. God led her on a five-year journey of healing from the pain caused by abandonment and abuse. She learned that abuse affects the very core of your being and you literally cannot become who God created you to be until you face the truth, walk back through the pain and allow God to heal you.
Cindy’s healing empowered her to work at area homeless shelters. She witnessed firsthand that single moms needed long term support, so they could achieve self-sufficiency and heal from past wounds. In 2004 God called her to found Living Hope Transitional Homes. She was Living Hope’s Executive Director for eleven years.
Cindy has ministered to women through Bible studies, prayer groups, and women’s retreats. She has a vision to create a community where women can come together and support each other to grow in their faith and become victorious women in Christ. Out of that passion and vision she founded Living Hope for Today in 2017.
For fun Cindy enjoys traveling to warm places and scuba diving. She is an empty nester and lives with her husband, Mike, in the Cincinnati area. They have three children and five grandchildren.
