Surrender: Not My Will but Thine

My husband was recently diagnosed with ALS and within a couple of months passed away. My mantra throughout his illness was to encourage myself with the words of Jesus, "not My will but Thine." We all go through difficult times, wilderness seasons, pain, heartbreak, trauma, devastation and loss. None of it is equal to what Jesus suffered for us. He modeled what it was like to live a life totally surrendered to God.  When we truly trust God, love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and we understand His character, we can surrender to His call and walk through the difficult times in faith. We can come to a place where we live a life totally surrendered to God, believing He is a good Father and is for us, not against us!
