What makes epic stories epic? Why does there seem to be such a longing for epic heroes these days, from our movies to our daily news? What is the lure of story, and why do we all want so desperately to tell a good story with our lives? And--do we know how?
Jill takes listeners on a journey toward their own story that God wants to write for them. We're all looking for heroes--there seems to be a serious shortage of people willing to go into the shadows to save the world. (Or even save a neighbor.) Many of us don't realize though that God is writing an epic story for all of us--and we can get close enough to him to read it for ourselves.
Jill’s book, Hobbits, You, and the Spiritual World of Middle-earth, sets the scene for this discussion of heroes, tall tales, and or own deep desire to make a meaningful difference. How can we learn from the stories others tell how to make our own lives they story they were meant to be?
Suitable especially for youth group and young adult events, but adaptable for any age.
Jill is available to make this presentation/conversation online.
