I was blessed at a young age, in that my father daughter dates were church functions. Thank you Dad! Then came the teen years, adulthood, marriage and children. I always thought that a first born should be a son. So at the discovery of my first pregnancy, like Hannah did. I prayed that this child would be a son, and like Hannah I would give him back. Nine months later, Samuel Isaiah was born. Little did I know that at the age of two years and nine months. I would give him back. The last act as a mother that I would do for Samuel, would be to dress him for his eulogy. Three weeks later I bought a red silk shirt for my Mommaw. It was the last shirt she would ever wear. To say I know a thing or two about grief, is somewhat of an understatement. Fast forward to 2018. My family and I were invited to the church we now call home. There is a lady there who knows grief, on the same level that I know it, just under different circumstances. She also knew something I did not, she knew the healing and victory that I was so desperately needing. I do not know where we would be today, without our church and this special lady. II Corinth 1:4 says We are to comfort wherewith the comfort we have been given. Ladies we REALLY can trade ashes for beauty ladies!
I also REALLY, REALLY enjoy participating as a teacher in our newly started kid's B.L.A.S.T. group at church. To be able to plant seeds, and invest in a life is an awesome privilege.
