Marie Palecek is an author and engaging, humorous, and memorable speaker who leads women to passionately listen for God’s voice. Using stories and Scriptures, she inspires, enlightens, and helps you see God in the simple things of your life.
=====
Marie Palecek believes God’s challenge in Jeremiah 33:3 is still valid today: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable (incomprehensible) things you do not know” (NIV). Paul confirms this in 1Corinthians 2:9-10. “However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’ the things God has prepared for those who love him—these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit” (NIV).
Whether speaking or writing, Marie blends Scripture with storytelling, humor, trivia, her dogs, life’s challenges, and everyday events to bring fresh awareness to God’s holy presence in our ordinary lives. Her gift of discovering Spiritual treasures hidden in plain sight enable her audience and reader to remember God’s Word – but, more exciting, to discover their story in hers. Some sample topics are:
Her first book, Listen For His Voice, is a collection of creative Scripture-inspired transformational devotions. Visit www.marietpalecek.com for a sneak peek inside.
Her Bible-Study-Journals combine the power of Scripture while opening the ears of your heart to listen for God’s whisper. The first, based on Psalm 23, will be released Fall 2024.
Marie held a speaker-workshop at the 2024 Set Apart Conference at Northwestern University. She has had three stories published in Chicken Soup for the Soul, plus devotions published in composite books. One of her poems earned second place in a writers’ contest at WCCW (West Coast Christian Writer’s Conference) in 2023.
Although born and raised attending church, Marie didn’t discover how exciting reading and studying Scripture could be until age thirty when a friend introduced her to a relationship with God. There was no turning back! Studying Scripture, biblical culture, and original Hebrew and Greek transformed this ancient book into an alive and active inaction with the Creator. There is nothing on earth that compares to that.
Marie lives in Minnesota with John, her husband of almost fifty years, and their current rescue dog, Dixie. Their adult son and daughter-in-law live nearby. When not at the keyboard, Marie enjoys crocheting, scrapbooking, gardening, camping, fishing, and walking her dog. She is a passionate learner, always ready to discover something new, like the secret life of seahorses.
