Nicole, a Bible teacher, will guide your gals through one of the scariest passages of Scripture, Matthew 7:21-23 (when the Lord declares to them, 'I never knew you'), as we discuss how to know God and how to be sure you are known by Him.
Jesus was speaking to those who were following Him. They were in the "right" place, yet He is giving them a warning. If a shepherd only warns the flock, but never feeds them, they will die of malnutrition. If a shepherd feeds the flock, but never warns them, he is fattening them up for the kill. The warnings of our shepherd are out of protection, and we will walk through practical steps to heed His words.
We will sit in John 3:16-18, and the basics of allowing the knowledge of Christ to travel the 18 inches from our head into our heart, allowing life transformation. The Greek word "to know" is ginosko, which is "experiential knowing." This isn't an intellectual understanding, but truly experiencing Jesus in relationship to (ginosko) know Him.
We will keep going through 1 John 2:3-6, John 4:23-24, 1 Corinthians 8:3, and more verses that help us paint a beautiful picture of what it means to truly know our Savior, how He seeks to be known by us, and how much we are known by Him.
This message includes great illustrations with a pie + a piece of stained glass to make it come alive.
To Know + Be Known can be one message or multiple for a weekend series at a retreat.
The Goal: For all your women know that they are fully known and deeply loved by God, with the only thing asked in return is for them to strive to (ginosko) know the God that truly knows them.
