Life is Like a Waiting Room

Waiting is one of the most difficult disciplines we have to learn. When we get impatient and tired of waiting, we may decide to take matters into our own hands. That is not a good plan. God doesn't measure time like we do.

=====

Waiting tries our patience. As we wait, we wonder "why" something is taking so long, "what" the hold-up is, "when" will I get an answer, and "how" this seemingly impossible and perhaps painful situation will bring about any good. But good things come to those who wait, right? Sometimes yes, sometimes no, according to how we look at things. What we might see as bad, God sees as good and useful for His plans for us. And what we might see as good, God knows more harm than good will follow.

Waiting Room 1 - We have all found ourselves in a waiting room. No matter what activities we have planned, if we are in a waiting room, it takes precedence and sets our schedule for the rest of our day until the wait is over.

Waiting Room 2 - God's waiting room. What are we waiting for? For God to act and do what only God can do.  Something you have prayed about for months or even years, but God seems silent. We don't understand. We begin to question and doubt what God is doing. How are we to wait?

Waiting Room 3 - Only God knows when our waiting will be over. What do we do in the meantime?

Multiple scriptures are used throughout this message.
