Maybe it was grief, trauma, shame, a job loss, an illness, an injury, depression, finances, betrayal, addiction, watching our kids suffer, losing a friend, or dissolving a marriage. The ruins are devastating and make us feel hopeless. The story of Tamar, in 2 Samuel 13, tells her story of being in the ruins after being raped. I share three key takeaways from her story, along with my story of healing, to show how we can thrive when we find ourselves in the ruins of life. There is hope, and healing is possible with Jesus.
