This message focuses on trusting God through the dark valleys and raging storms of life. Drawing from my personal journey of faith and surrender, I share the life-changing truths of God’s love, provision, protection, comfort, hope, and healing.
In 2011, my eldest son contracted a rare and deadly parasitic meningitis while visiting Hawaii. This unexpected “hurricane” of life turned our world upside down. Amid the fear and uncertainty, God used this storm to teach me profound lessons about trust, faith, and surrender. Over and over, I heard Him whisper to my heart: “Trust Me, I’ve Got This.”
Through this journey, I experienced God stripping away my illusion of control and revealing His almighty power and unfailing love. I share not only the trials of this experience but also the ways God worked through the storm, showing me the truths He wants each of His children to know.
A Story Meant to Be Told
Everyone has a story, but I wrestled with whether mine was meant to be shared. Was I seeking an audience for my own sake, or was God calling me to speak? The answer came during a quiet walk on a gravel road. In that stillness, He impressed upon my heart: “It’s not your story—it’s Mine. Tell them about Me. They need to know.”
With this clarity, I began sharing not just the account of my son’s devastating illness but also the overwhelming evidence of God’s daily provision and faithfulness. It’s a story that reminds us of these essential truths:
God is with us.
He is for us.
He knows, sees, and cares deeply.
His plans are always for our ultimate good, even when we can’t see it in the moment.
