My favorite phrase in the Bible is "but God." Those two little words change everything. We were dead in our sins, but God made us alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:1-7). Our flesh and our heart may fail, but God, is the strength of our heart forever (Psalm 73:26). We are afflicted at every turn, but God, who comforts the downcast, comforts us (2 Corinthians 7:5-7). My life has been a series of "but Gods." I'll share how he has taken my brokenness and turned it to joy.
